EPESODE 1 : SCHOOL AS LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

So now I feel the essence of being a real teacher.#Struggleisreal #teacherbelike
#feildstudy101 .All of that is already in my mind at that time as I step-up in ILIGAN CITY EAST NATIONAL HIHG SCHOOL were I've deployed. Thinking that I must be looking good in my uniform at the same time feeling excited and great on how my first day would be worked out ,whoooooo cant figure it out.Rooming around in school made me believe that being a future teacher was not easy. As we can see there were no enough classroom for the students but yet they didn't made it as a hindrance for their education.Building were still constructed for the extension of the rooms, maybe because of  the increasing population of the students. As I observed the students were so polite specially when the greet us "Good Day ma'am" wooow ! It made me feel that I  am almost a professional teacher at that time , also teachers so approachable and kind.

ANALYSIS
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact on the learning of the students going to school? What your conclusion?

  •      The ICENHS were not too strict specially the class hour, I usually saw the students are just rooming around and hanging up with their classmate at students lounge. Maybe I can say that the classroom were too small for the over populated students. So, it will have a big impact on the learning of the students it will cause a low value of the education in their school .

How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

  •      It is important on how education will be effective to introduce by the students . Because it is a lifelong thing that they will always bring whenever they go , and it is the key of their success in future . Also on how the teacher will introduce the education to the students.

MY REFLECTION

1.Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not ?

  •      For me no, because maybe it will became too hard for me to teach specially of the lack of facilities and equipment's in their school.
2. What kind of school campus is conductive to learning?

  •      As also a student I can say that a campus must have enough facilities and equipment's to have a higher learning education.
3.What kind of classroom is conductive to learning?

  •      Having a high quality and quantity of facilities in classroom is already a conductive for learning.
4.In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3 ?

  •      Be a well trained teacher and to be a effective educator to my future students.
5.Write  your additional learning and insights here.

  •      For me to be a teacher is not easy you must be open minded on how you address every problem in your students, classroom, and school. And be passionate enough and be confidently beautiful with the heart.

              PHYSICAL
Observe their gross motor skills. How they carry themselves. How they move, walk, run, go up in stairs etc.
As I observed in Grade 8 Section Mimbalot Falls, the way they act is so different from higher year. Students there were too busy playing and making other things that are not necessary  and not related to their subject which is drafting . They were too energetic and very hyper.

Are gross movements clumsy or deliberate/smooth?
The students there were too clumsy on the things that they've done maybe because they don't too care on how the things will be done in a proper manner and in a right way.

How about their fine writing skills ? Writing, drawing, etc
Students in Grade 8 were too messy in their drawings and writings , but they are too imaginative ion the things that they drawn and write.

                                              SOCIAL

The way they interact in teachers were so kind respectful but in their co-adults the way they interact them sometimes were too disrespectful maybe because they are friends and very close.
Note how they interact with peers. What do they usually talk about? What are their
concerns ?
The way they interact with their peers were good and bad, because sometimes they talk about bad things and sometimes  they ask question on a good                                                                             things.

ANALYSIS

HIGH SCHOOL

AGE RANGE OF LEARNERS OBSERVED

  • 14-15 YEARS OLD

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS OBSERVED

  • High School were too lazy and always strolling around with peers.

IMPLICATION TO THE TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS
  • Therefore the teacher should a interesting activity for them not to get bored and going outside in the classroom
  • Therefore the teacher should be effective educator and well trained enough to make the lesson more applicable to the students

REFLECTIONS

1.While you were observing the learners, how did you recall your own experiences when you were their age? What similarities or differences do you have with the learners you  observed?
As I recall on the time of my observation the similarities that we have when I was in their age are very hyper, energetic, always having fun and always talking. I usually spend time together with my peers as how I observed on them. And the differences between us is when I was in my High School time I was so very active in my organization which is Student Peer Facilitator, which I didn't notice on them on the participation on their campus organization.

2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative reasons. How did she help you with your needs? How did it affect you?
When I was 4th year high school my adviser always motivate me and always giving advice to get away from my other classmate because they are not good example for me which is I don't usually believe because they help me in many times at many things.

EPISODE 3 CLASSROOM AND MANAGEMENT LEARNING

Image result for classroom cartoon

ANALYSIS

1.How did the classroom organization and routines affect the learners behavior?
The classroom organization is very important for the students because it helps them to do their daily routine and made them more responsible enough to do their duties as students and it is the right way to discipline them .

2.What should the teacher have in mind when he designs the classroom organization and routine?       What theories and principles should you have in mind?
The equipment's in their  classrooms were complete but it was kind of a mess it does not arrange properly.

3.Which behavior strategies were effective in managing the behavior of the learners? In motivating students? Why are they effective ?
For me it was their daily prayer as a students the message of their prayer it made us more determined and let us more responsible enough to be a student.

REFLECTION

1.Imagine yourself organizing  your classroom in the future. In what grade/year level do you see yourself? What routines and procedures would you consider for this level? Why?
I like to teach in 4th year level and I want them to become a real gentlemen and women enough and be responsible enough in future by making them to be more participator in class.

2.Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level. Why would you choose these rules?
  • 1.Always come to school early
  • 2.Attend class regularly
  • 3.Come to school prepared
  • 4.Do your daily work/assign task
  • 5.Always participate in class
Because for me this 5 rules are important to them to make them more  responsible and it help for their future life to be a good citizen.

3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules ? why?
Yes because it is their right to express their suggestion and opinions specially in implementing the rules.

EPISODE 4 INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES AND LEARNERS INTERACTION

OBSERVATION REPORT

In the section that I've observe there are 30 students , 19 girls and 11 boys the range of their age are 13, 14 and 15. There were Muslims and Christians. As I observed them the interaction between the teacher and the students were good. In that section there are different group of people who are usually didn't listen to the teacher and there are some of students who are chatty to their teacher , also there are passive and active learners. The students behave in different manner, and in different way . The students at the back are not listening well to the teacher while students in front are so focus on listening their teacher. While  the teacher having a activity to the class other students was very cooperative while others are not.  Students who cooperate in class were very competitive compared to other. The students who did not answer  specially in oral  recitation  were being helped by their other classmates who knows the right answer. As I rooming around the campus a saw different kind of students together with their peers  in their  students lounge, most usually the boys group together and hanging together they are just sitting their  and singing and laughing while other students in SPA building boys and girls students their are also practicing their Christmas single who will they going to relate in the lesson of their subjects .

ANALYSIS

1.Identify the persons  who play key roles in the relationships and interaction in the classroom. What roles o they play?Is there somebody who appears to be the leader, a mascot/joker an attention seeker, a little teacher, a doubter/pessimist?
Usually inside the classroom I saw a group of students who  are talking and laughing together because somebody in the class are telling jokes.Other students who are very quite and alone are being bullied by the other students. The teacher also observed the class on what are happening around  the classif he  recognize something is silly in  the the class he immediately tell the class to stop doing bad things.Being a participator in class made them more friendly and showing their creativeness outside the class.

REFLECTION

1. How did you feel being in that classroom?Did you feel a sense of oneness or unity among the learners and between the teacher and the learners?
YES, I felt the unity on us because they don't make me feel that I'm just nothing and just sitting there . They were friendly and chatty and also they consider me as one of their teacher.

2.In the future, how would you want the learners in your classroom to interact? How will you make things happen?
I would encourage them to express their creativity and imaginative person so that they can always communicate with other students.

3.How will you encourage all learners, regardless of religious, ethnic background, to interact and participate?
For me I will introduce to them on how important is the ethnic people are. I will let them share their own idea for  them to unit one another so that they will embrace each others culture and traditions open arms.

EPISODE 5 INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES AND LEARNERS INTERACTION

OBSERVATION

There are different kind of student in a class. I have chosen a girl who is very simple and very quite in class she is a anti-social kind of student and a boy who is very popular in their campus and who is a attention seeker. The girl one is maybe to shy but she is always participating in class activities she is also the  top 1 in their classroom while the boy is just always getting outside the classroom during class hour. As I ask my assigned teacher about their background he  told me that  the girl one is very responsible enough because of their family situation only her mother who raise their 4 siblings , that's why the girl is always shy because she felt she is very different on her classmate in terms of social status but she is very determined on her dreams, while the boy one is very rich student he had everything but he is always regretting many things and didn't focus on his study. The teacher always appreciate the good deeds of the girl and always motivating her to  strive hard, in a different way the  teacher is always got angry on the boy because it is so hard headed.

ANALYSIS

1.Did your observation match the information given by the teacher? Were you able to correctly identify who among the students performed well and who did not?
Yes my observation had match to the teachers information.Because as what I've seen in the
2 students on how they act and behave were too obvious to identify their way of living and way of their manner.

2.Describe the differences in ability level of the students in the class. Is there a wide gap between the students who are performing well and those that are not?
The difference of the girl and the boy is that the girl is intelligent enough compared to the boy.

3.Describe the methods used by the teacher in handling the students differences in abilities. How did the students respond to the teacher?
The teacher were very patient to the boy and always correcting the wrong doings of the boy which is I find it was so good for the boy own sake. And very concern on the girls situation that's why she is motivating her which is good also.

REFLECTION

When I was in my elementary  days our valedictorian in our batch had much given attention to our teacher , she is always appreciating her while our low achievers classmate had given a little amount of attention but she is always motivating her to strive more. I can say that the teachers effectiveness were not too bad I cant blame  her if she had more attention to  our valedictorian maybe because she is very intelligent enough, and she is always telling us to achieve our goals and dreams even if we are just a average students. Sooner or later I will  becoming a teacher in Gods perfect time the strategies of teaching that I might remember in future is to understand the  situation of the student and be passionate on my teaching career.

Physical Development

Emz has a fair complexion, she is slightly thin but her height is just appropriate to his age. Plus she is a very good looking . The child is healthy and don't have serious illness.

Social Development

She is sociable enough because she go out and mingle with his friends. She is also a sweet child to his mother and sibling.

Emotionally she is quite well. She is a little bit shy of expressing what she wants, feelings and ideas. Maybe it is right if she is faced into others so that he can communicate with them more often and to remove her shyness.

Cognitive Development

On cognitive development she is good. She exerts efforts in academics and strives hard to understand the subjects and lessons.

Findings

In my findings about the child, I learned that she is taken care very good even though his parents separated, his mother stand as the provider of the family.

Conclusions

Therefore I conclude that in order to have great aspects whether physically, emotionally, morally and cognitive aspects are that is a good background and rising up of families.

Recommendations

I would strongly recommend to the family to help their daughter interact with other individual so that he would overcome his shyness.

MY ANALYSIS

1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of parenting experienced by the learner? Explain your answer.

In my own view, I think that the type of parenting her mother id conducting is more on authoritarian because it is the mother that decides and what should be done in behalf of the father. That's why it is just appropriate if she is more of an authoritarian.

2.Relating your data with what you learned from child development, what family factors do you think contribute to the development and over-all adjustment of the learner in school?
Maybe the separation of his parents is a factor that greatly contributes to the development of the child. Maybe the reason why she is shy is that for her she is kind of different to others. In all over adjustment she is coping with it may be the reason is the proper guidance of his mother and the support of her sibling.

3.Does the communication between the home-school have an effect on the learner? If yes, what are these effects?
Of course it has. As we know our parents are our first teachers that are why if they taught us very well we will be able to cope up to the outside world we will be dealing with. Because if we are not taught properly at home we will not be able to understand the essence of everything.
